I would like to share an excerpt of the speech that I
delivered at Cuneta Astrodome as the 1st Placer in September 2008 Licensure Examination for Teachers out of 100,000+ examinees nationwide.
I’ve
learned that to experience success, we must operate in faith. And faith
is not simply “wishing” and doing nothing. Faith is an action that
requires perseverance and tenacity. Faith is holding on when things are
tough until dreams and goals become reality. What happened to me can
also happen to you if you’ll put your faith in God and entrust Him with
your life – completely. And if you haven’t made the decision to let God
be the center of your life, accept His personal invitation to take hold
of you and your future. God says in Jeremiah 29:11-12 “ For I know the
plans that I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future… and if you seek me with all your
heart, I will be found by you.”
God
requires excellence in everything that we do because He has already
given us everything that we could possibly need. In fact, we don’t need
MORE talent, intelligence or money. We just need to be good stewards of
the resources and develop the talent that God has given us. If we are
faithful in the small things entrusted to us, God will give us more. Be
the best that you are capable of becoming and always strive hard to
become better everyday. Don’t be discouraged by your failures in the
past, yet, don’t be complacent of your past glories and accomplishments.
Enlarge your vision about yourself. The best is
yet to come in your life. Do the things you haven’t done yet and go to
places you’ve never been. If God is at your side, He will enable you,
bless you and grant you success.
